Invitation to Participate

This is a special invitation to producers of quality home products to be involved in the most unique building project to take place in Ontario Canada. You will have your products featured in many forms of media on an ongoing format. Unlike many forms of media where exposure lasts a very short period of time this project will carry on for many years and attract a large and diverse group of buyers.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT?

The project is an UNDERGROUND HOME constructed of modules with a dome roof. Each module is 28 feet square with straight walls and a dome ceiling reaching about 12 feet at the top. There is a 6 ft. skylight on each dome and there will be 4 modules to complete this structure. Total area is approx. 3000 sq. ft.

UNIQUE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUE

Each dome will be poured on site utilizing a continuous pour resulting in NO cold seams in walls or dome. All overhangs and parapets as well as columns will be of continuous pour. Each dome or module will be completed in 2 to 3 days with total time of main structure about 12 days maximum. Re-useable forms will be used and just moved to next module as concrete sets to desired consistency. All openings and conduits will be in place according to drawings.

WHY THIS TYPE OF HOME ATTRACTS A LOT OF INTEREST?

An underground home properly constructed has many advantages over a conventional home. Since the earth is at a constant temperature of about 55 degree F you only have to heat to comfort zone of about 14 degree F. As a result the cooling in the summer is taken care of by nature since 55 degrees is comfortable. In an underground home you can leave for the winter and no pipe will freeze unless you leave the door open. Since the roof and three walls are covered with earth there is almost NO MAINTENANCE on the outside with exception of cutting grass and landscaping.

These homes blend into the landscape, are environmentally friendly and are very energy efficient. In some areas it is not uncommon to have wild life on the roof at some time. With the skylights and Southwest facing front windows coupled with the dome roof that reflects light this home will have more natural light than a conventional home and with direct sunlight there will be a degree of passive solar heating depending on absorption material inside home.

WHO IS INTERESTED AND WHY?

The interest in unconventional homes is very high due to many factors. The high cost of conventional homes is driving some to look at attractive alternatives. We have seen homes made from a variety of materials, some interesting and some so abstract as to question sanity of the builder. Depending on location there are homes build from STRAW, RAMMED EARTH, TIRES, SHORT LOGS, BOTTLES ETC. However the most practical and most efficient as well as the longest life home is the properly constructed underground home. Made from poured concrete life expectance is in excess on 1000 years and coupled with efficiency and low maintenance these homes have a large following. The demographics of interest are in our favor since the younger people have through education a greater degree of understanding of energy conservation and environmental factors. They are in tune with everything that is available in an underground home. Also it appears that they are able to think out side of the box in most cases.

If you search the Internet you will come upon many sites involving underground housing and be amazed at the number of hits on these sites. It is not uncommon to see 20,000 hits in a two-year period on one site alone. Just think of the number of hits available if a web site is properly promoted and the amount of publicity available if utilized properly with links and easy to connect features for your products.

THE FUTURE IS ENORMOUS

Besides the benefits of owning an energy efficient home it is the intention of this company to start building this type of home in Ontario and the rest of Canada. There is no one at this time promoting this type of home and with the innovative construction techniques available to us we are in a position to capitalize on this enormous market and bring along partners with quality products to finish one of these homes. Even with out getting involved in the construction the exposure to your products will be total and complete. You will be featured in many media environments. News papers, magazines, video’s radio, TV, specialty publications, environmental publications as well as some government publications. At this time we have invited involvement with Waterloo University and Guelph University and have had favorable correspondence with both institutions. We do not know to what degree they wish to participate but they are interested.

NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION!

We are inviting manufacturers of top quality products to take advantage of this unique opportunity to get on board for a long-term promotion of their products. We can be the first to fully capitalize on the unique features of this project to place out products front and center for higher sales and profits both in the near term and long range. To be involved you will have to demonstrate a quality product, install your product in the demonstration structure and agree to participate in the making of media materials as required. You should have some special features such as exceptional quality, method of manufacture, energy savings, comfort and environmental factors to qualify.
